Michael Calvin kicked a field goal to give San Lorenzo a 3-0 lead in the first quarter against Dublin on Friday afternoon. But the versatile Rebel was just getting warmed up. His highlight plays lifted San Lorenzo to a 29-26 win over the Gaels.
But San Lorenzo found itself behind again in the fourth quarter after Dublin running back Devon Ferguson scored two second-half touchdowns to give him three TDs for the day.
The Rebels held a slim 3-point lead, 29-26, and Dublin had been moving the ball well in the second half, so the lead looked shaky. But Brandon Sanders came up with a fumble on the kickoff, enabling the Rebels to run out the clock.
Ferguson picked up 172 yards along with his three touchdowns, and his final score gave Dublin a brief lead. But the Rebels made big plays when they needed to.
The Rebels held Dublin to just one completed pass, while Calvin caught six passes for 160 yards. Sanders caught three passes, and Aaron Middleton caught two passes for 41 yards.
